"Surf to surf tomorrow. Never surf like there's no tomorrow." Lopez Rule #1, Gerry Lopez Waiting for tomorrow...and the boat across to waves unridden. Assateague's North Tip, 3/23/2019. |
Bought a boat. Finally came in. Signed for. Get the SUV all balled up (i.e. trailer hitched) and get set to take delivery. Three to four weeks should have the weather in line. Time for surfs' up and to fish up. Finally get to check out the east side of the northern tip of Assateague. Need that water to start warmin'. Spring's here. Summer's comin'.
The Great Return. To commemorate the restoration of the James River. A fitting brew to launch a ship. At least celebrate the launch of a ship. Or, at least celebrate the appointed launch of an open bow jet boat. And Spring. And Summer. On the St. Martin River. Hardywood Park Craft Brewery's West Coast IPA. Big at 7.5% ABV and 70 IBUs. Poured a semi-cloudy pale amber with a foamy, off-white 2F head. Huge aromas of piney resin, and grapefruit. Some malt and grain. Flavors of peach, mango, and more signature hop grapefruit. Malted toffee in the back. Sweet up front with a dry finish. Overall, very dank. Very resinous. Left me wanting. More. Rated an B+/A-.
