Sub'n For Shorebreak (No Waves, No Bueno), the Rogue's session log.

Paddlin' hard before the shore hits. 38th and Castles, 6/29/23.
Poor attendance on the beach. Shorebreak has been epidemic. And' when it's not, I'm not...there. It's been a hot one. The summer so far. Always tends to flatten out the surf. The lack of sandbars off the shore, create dangerous conditions. Breakin' right up the beach. No Bueno. Despite being busy with a lot of company this summer, still hittin' the bay on the Jet. Fishin'. Island ponies. And, some dirt track thoroughbreds. Can't help it. Regardless of the quality substitutions in time...miss the swell. Say it again. No waves. No Bueno.
Annual fishin' of the East Channel.

Ponies out... Assateague, Late June, 2023.

Ocean Downs... won the "Place" bet!
Been savin' for the first surf sesh. Wave Hunter IPA. Vitamin Sea Brewing. Appropriate. Pours a hazy, pale-gold. Finger wide, foamy, white head. Decent stickiness of the lacing. Immediate aromas of pine cones and lemon drops. Tell-tale grapefruit in the flavor with a strong lemon peel presence. Bracing slap of hops in the finish. Had a 4-pack of 16 ouncers. Would've taken a sixer. Yeah, got 'em for the badass can graphics. Not a lemon fan, but good stuff. At 6.3%... like having your back to the waves, it'll sneak up on ya. Close to shore? No Bueno! Rated a B+/A-.
"For me personally, a couple beers
before a surf doesn’t hurt. Actually
does the opposite. Little bit of liquid
confidence clears the head and makes
 me less likely to hesitate."

Fuelin' Up, the Rogue's session log.

Burnin' gas. Yamaha made for a fast jet to Ocean Downs waterfront, Herring Creek. 6/13/2023

Changing the job profile. Time off in between. DP presented the perfect opportunity. Gassed up his jet ski for summer runnin.' Trip to the OP Marina Fuel Dock, then a quick run back in the Herring Creek area (well...as quick as I could make it at 55-60mph.). Rippin' thru the back bay. Isle of Wight wetlands, herons, and plenty of canals. Smooth trip. Water in the 70s. Air in the lower 80s. Semi-light wind ripple to the surface. Joined DP on a fish trip out to the Assawoman thoroughfare in the PM. Stoke filled day on the backside of the Cape.
In flight...Blue Heron lift-off. Isle of Wight wetlands, 6/13/2023.
One of our newer breweries on the shore. Ocean View Brewing, in Ocean View, DE. Wanna clean, crisp beer, to throw back a few of after a fast AM on the water? "Got Waves?" Kolsch is just the ticket! A pale lager that poured a bright, straw-yellow, with a finger-plus bubbly white head. Pepper and light fruit in the aromas and taste. Crisp and refreshing in the finish. No real "Wow" factor, but in warmer weather, after a day on the water? Worth more than one at a time. Rated a B-/B.
Well, I ain't gonna work today
Just wanna sit around and play
Gonna hit balls off the dock
Kick back in my flip-flops
Don't owe nothing to the lender
Nothing spinning in the blender
The only thing on my agenda is
Beers and sunshine.
