The colors of Summer.  Fresh fruits and veggies.  Strawberries, 'lopes, watermelon, and grapefruit.  Yeah, Grapefruit!  Two brew hits I've found this summer.  A slammin' double IPA and a smooth Shandy. Starting with The Stochasticity Project, Stone Brewing's answer to the summertime blues.  Grapefruit Slam IPA, 95 IBUs of dry hopped goodness.  The 8.2% alcohol level won't take ya much passed the bomber level.  Notes of lemon citrus and pine, but an intense aroma and taste of grapefruit.  No surprise as this semi-sweet badass concoction is brewed with grapefruit peel.  Plenty of up front caramel maltiness provides balance.  One and a half finger head and excellent lacing  followed a cloudy amber-orange pour.  Rated an A.

Cutting the grass the other evening and wanted a smooth refresher that wouldn't knock me out when I was done with the lawn.  Traveler Beer Company's Illusive Traveler Grapefruit Shandy.  This is not a fancy craft beer, but it fills a niche.  Not too fruit juicy, and not too fizzy either. Pours a hazy/pulpy orange with a thin head; very little lace.  Thin feel with a lemon-grapefruit aroma.  Only 7 IBUs so not hoppy dry, but a refreshing grapefruit bitterness.  At 4.4% ABV...have another.  Rated a B.
