Locked Out, session notes from the Rogue.

Nearest to avoiding the closeout. Quick frontside skid, Holidays and 66th. 9/25/2019

Couldn't seem to find my groove the other night. Every ride was crashin' before I could find a line. Literally locked out of the crease. A ride here and there, but nothin' to crow about. Surf about thigh high plus, but closing out fast. Water still in the low 70's. Now Tropical Storm Jerry's winds blowing ENE onshore. Not the greatest of conditions. Seems to be the theme. Add to that the cutbacks on evening sun-time; shortened mid-week sessions. Not feelin' it. And, for whatever reason, I feel guilty about that. Like I'm not appreciating being in the water, which is not true. Only conclusion I can come to is a lack of quality waves and the resulting lack of quality rides. That's it. Enough whining.

Gimme a beer. It is October. The sky gets dark, the beer gets darker. Not a great beer, but solid...Blue Moon Brewery's Harvest Pumpkin Wheat poured a clear amber-brown with a thin, off-white head. Thin lacing to accompany. Notes of cinnamon, clove, and pumpkin pie in the aromas. The flavors boasted caramely toffee with a tinge of nutmeg and sweet malt. A hair of hoppiness in the finish. Okay, it's a Miller-Coors owned brewery. Not an independent craft. I ain't no brewer. I just drink the stuff. And this ain't no "spend the night in the patch" pumpkin ale, but definitely a go to over a Miller Lite or Bud. Enjoyed the six. Rated a C+/B-.
