Water temps in the mid-60s. Air temps in the 70s. No tropical fronts around us. In-laws in town on a healing tour. Much going on. The feel of mortality always leaves us looking over our shoulder. Out on the boat in October. The air is cool and crisp, carrying the scent of fallen leaves and wood-smoke from the shore. The water mirrors the fiery reds, oranges, and golds of the trees that line the banks. The bay and inlet waterways are less crowded. The soft light of an early sunset. As Halloween draws near, there’s a mysterious edge to the calm — fog drifts low across the surface, and the distant hoot of an owl echoes through the stillness. Wrapped up in more layers than usual. It is both feel both peaceful and alive, Surrounded by the quiet beauty of the season. The whisper of both the death of one season and birth of another.

O'Connor Brewing brought on El Guapo Agave IPA. September's Williamsburg trip. Everywhere we went- saw it there. Subliminal. Had to get a sixer. 7.5% summer to autumn warmer. Orange-gold pour. 2-finger fluff white head. Sweet notes of caramel and citrus. 70 IBU hop punch in the mouth. Rated a B+. |
